Lookbook > Rockin' it at Alter Bridge

My second http://lookbook.nu/nishahaq outfit submitted and this one is the look I wore to see Alter Bridge with my mum 2 days ago. I'm going to post and entry about the concert so read that for more information about how awesome they were and pictures/videos :D

About my look: On my way to see Alter Bridge concert in Bristol and thought I'd 'rock' up my look with a biker jacket (I love that jacket too much), and combat boots. Wooly hat to keep my ears warm (though I really didn't need it) and 'sex' it up with hold ups and suspenders :) and red tights underneath :D I may not be the skinniest person but anyone can wear suspenders! :D

p.s thanks to my mama for snapping me! :P

Hype on LookBook > Autumn Lady in Red

Hey Everyone

I was introduced to this great style site by Ebony recently created a LookBook profile and there's so many awesome looks from fabulous fashionista's around the world. It's a great source of inspiration and has certainly given me great ideas for different ways to dress and combine styles.

Here's my first lookbook submission :) Hype it or like it on facebook. there's a hype button below or to the side bar >>> . Thanks!

Autumn Lady in Red

About my look: Wanted to keep in theme with the autumn colours so went with the maroon tartan mid-length skirt which was a bargain buy from Oxfam and teamed it up with goth lace tights, combat boots, which I love and a biker jacket. I colour coordinated the skirt with a camel long sleeved top and wore it with a wooly hat. Being comfortable and warm is what I like best :)

p.s Thanks Lauhren for snapping me! haha

Design Layout Under Construction

Hey Everyone

I've been re-jigging my layout and thought it was time for a new look.
I'm going fairly minimal with the white and I've only just realized you can adjust the width borders which is great so now I can post larger pictures. woop!

Design inspired by blogs such as http://weliveyoung.blogspot.com/ and http://www.katelovesme.net/. Love their simple white layout, it makes the content the focus of attention rather the distracting gadgets on the site and busy backgrounds.

As much as I'd like to go full on minimalistic, thought I'd keep a touch of my colourful personality and added a splash of pink, purple and gold. Also the background image is my own photograph. Click this link to see on DeviantArt to download: http://mashnash.deviantart.com/#/d31h41s

I'm currently designing a logo for M.A.S.H so that shall hopefully be updated.

But for now, just keep loving each day you live...

p.s I'm loving The Pretty Reckless at the moment! :D

Artist of the Week + Q&A > Reka Agnes Koti

Have only recently come across this great photographer, Reka Koti and her images are captivating, dream like yet mysterious. I had featured her for 'Photograph of the Day > Disoriented by Reka Agnes Koti' which received quite a lot of hits. Goes to show how amazing her photography is! I love how her images always contains conceptual content and mixes up her style from colourful 'folk' inspired fashion  to dark double exposed black/white lomography shots. She uses great technique and always draws the viewer in which I particularly like about her unique work. I like how non-conventional take to photography and she isn't concerned about solely taking a pretty picture, there is depth and a lovely cryptic element. I'm in awe from her work and have also decided to feature her as a photographer research for my Photography A Level at college. It ties in wonderfully to my black/white project I'm doing at the moment.

It's also great to hear what she has to say about her work. I managed to email her some questions which she kindly answered. Thank you!

1. Firstly, how did you get into photography? Has it always been an interest in your life?
I became interested about and started to learn photography two years ago, simply because I wanted it to be a part of my life.

2. How long have you been doing photography? What inspired you to initially shoot?

I was interested in portraiture photography from the beginning. Maybe because it is intimate honest and personal.

3. Did you get any formal training or are you self-taught?

I worked as an assistant of a well –know Hungarian fashion photographer and also attended a formal training on the technical bases of photography.

4. What equipment do you often use?

I use a canon 40 d a Diana f+ and tons of natural lighting.

5. How would you describe your photographic style?

Dreamy, intimate a bit melancholic and always spontaneous.

6. What would you say inspires you the most? What are your influences in photography?

Mainly everything, music, films, dreams, everyday scenes and mostly the person in front of my camera.

7. I love your lomography shots. What inspired you to get into lomography?

A friend of my started to talk about lomography, I liked it, so I tried.

8. Do you prefer black/white photography or colour and your reason?

I wouldn’t say I prefer B&W, but it certainly gives a certain mood to a picture, that is more valid in some cases than using colours

9. Lastly, any advice on aspiring photographers, like myself?

Just be brave, practice as much as you can, listen to the objective criticism, but mostly just listen to your on heart and mind.

Yay! My Canon Kiss x4 has Arrived!

Omg, so happy that my Canon EOS Kiss (550D) x4 arrived today. Didn't realize how light it weighs and how compact it is which is such a bonus as my hands are so small! The Nikon D70 I borrowed from college is much bulkier and heavier so this certainly was a great feature.

I haven't tried out all the specs yet however I love the fact it features HD movie up to 1080p video. The LCD screen is 3 inches which is great to see the image close up, in addition it's 18.0 mp which is awesome. I bought this from Ebay UK and this came with 18-55mm lens kit and 8gb SD card which is pretty nifty. All in all, I'm very happy. Shall be shooting away! All I need is a camera bag and stronger tripod.

I was trying out my camera and simply shooting away. Random self-portrait edit in 10mins.

Yes, I'm in my PJs; this was a random photo! Wanted to check out the canon quality. :)

Self Portrait Oct 2010

Tying in with my graphics project which I've titled 'Who Am I?' I've been doing a lot of self-portraits. Sounds fairly vain but it's more about exploration of who I am rather than trying to take as many pretty pictures of myself! This photo I'm experimenting with layers and brushes. Also thought I'd go with a more 'classic' look rather than a rough edgy look I usually do in my self-portraits. I still kept my Hard Rock Cafe necklace from NY I wear all the time, in this photo! Depending on my mood I have many styles! :)

Vampire Diaires Hotties in Vanity Fair Italia

Ok I must admit 2 posts with Ian Somerhalder in one day may be obsessive however when someone's that hot, you can never post too much! haha. So I saw this editorial and interview (in Italian) in Vanity Fair Italia October 2010. I absolutely love Vampire Diaries and think its a 100x better than Twilight (sorry Twilight fans). The story lines, characters and drama is more exciting than other vampire shows/films at the moment; plus 2 uber hot vampires in one show; can it get any better? Bordelle go S&M in SS 11 Collection

Only just heard of Bordelle a few yesterday and got excited at their awesome SS 11 collection. I especially love their black 'bondage' inspired corselet dress below with the gold spikes and buckles. Very sexy indeed. I love how throughout their collections they keep to their 'strap' theme and can instantly recognize what Bordelle lingerie is. Its innovative, provocative and would make any woman feel confident and super sexy. If only I had the money to splash, I would certainly get some Bordelle in my wardrobe! :P
