The Khaki Parka, London

Another photo taken outside Topshop at Oxford Circus, London with the scouting help of Lauhren Jones.

About this look: Love the khaki parka look with denim shirt and striped top. Cool colour scheme with a grunge casual feel.

OMG! DSquared2 F/W 2010 Runway

I was browsing through designers I really liked and to see what trends there were out at the moment and I was blown away by DSquared F/W 2010 collection in Milan. I missed the runway edits from Vogue and Elle etc so I wasn't up to date with the this seasons collections. I realize I'm like 7 months behind in blogging this collection however I'm just blogging about what I love; and these garment I would love to own if I had the money.

The Barbara Kruger colour scheme with the dramatic scarlet, bold red lipstick and heavy black make-up is a 'killer' look this season. Wet look leggings. gothic feathers, and feminine leather biker look features heavily in this collection. It's very 40's high-glamour film noir-esque mixed with domanatrix leather and show-stopping feather creations. On some models DSquared2 put blue and red lines on their skin looking like their veins. I think this is a creative, statement look and adds to the feirce attitude. If I wore these outfits I would feel super confident and sexy. This would be an independent womans' favourite look. I also love how they've mixed glam goth with grey tailored suits and thigh high leather brown boots. Although I love the fur coat look I would prefer if it was faux fur as I'm agasint using animal fur for fashion (no. 15,17)

For me this is Edward Scissorhands meets Dita Von Teese. It's also vampire-esque with the pale skin and vivid lips. Vampires are very 'HOT' this year! :D

We all Want a Little Clark Kent Part I

Matt Bomer doing the 'Clark Kent' look
So I was getting my daily gossip feed from http://justjared.buzznet.com/ and came across the handsome face of Matt Bomer, 32. I was compelled by his piercing blue eyes, curvy brunette hair and the bold thick framed glasses which seems to still be a hot trend this summer. At first I thought it was 'Clark Kent!' then realized it was the guy from US TV series, 'White Collar' and 'Chuck'.

Due to my increasing curiosity to who this dashing Clark Kent lookalike was, I Googled him (I'm not advertising search engine preference, it's just a common phrase which happens to be the search engine I use!). I found out that he actually was due to play Clark Kent for the Superman reboot, 'Superman Returns'! It is no wonder that I instantly identified him as Clark Kent.

I then went back to http://justjared.buzznet.com/photos/matt-bomer/ and realized that the thick framed glasses look is turn on and certainly gives the sexy nerd look that I'm loving at the moment. Clark Kent has certainly brought back a trend to love!

Talking about the 'Clark Kent' trend, here's a shot of Tom Welling who plays Clark Kent for the US TV series, Smallville, wearing those statement glasses in the show:

Tom Welling has also done a fashion shoot called 'Making Headlines' with Maryna Linchuk photographed by Steven Meisel inspired by Clark Kent for Vogue.

Making the 'nerd' glasses fashionable, chic and sophisticated!

And for the original Clark Kent, Christopher Reeve (bless his soul!):
Here are some cool examples of celebrities embracing the 'Clark Kent' glasses trend:

Robert Buckley from One Tree Hill    Simon Baker from The Mentalist

Jay Z                           Chris Brown (his lips are really pink?)

Aaron Tveit in Ugly Betty                                     Joe Jonas

Colin Firth in Tom Ford's, A Single Man                    Nicholas Hoult for
              (60's hot trend re-invented)                      Tom Ford Eyewear S/S 2010

So I'm certainly loving this new nerdy trend and wish I could pull off with sex appeal! Of course, it's not just the guys who have embraced this hot new trend. The girls look equally as sexy and sophisticated in these 'Clark Kent' rimmed glasses. Part II of this entry coming soon for the sexy females and ultra cool nerdy glasses!

So do you think this is HOT or NOT?

Review Hot Trend: Army Military

So I've realized I haven't posted entry about trends at the moment. With designers already launching their Fall/Winter 2010 collections I thought I'd embrace the hottest trends for this summer while it lasts. I can't be thinking about woolly hats and fur coats just yet! Even though the Spring/Summer 2010 collections were revealed ages ago it's only just got into its swing and being worn by the general public. It takes a little while for trends to be whittled down to high street stores, then caught on by the public and in turn recognised as an actual working trend!

The trend that I have loved this summer was:

Army Military
Jean Paul Gautier S/S 2010
I love the asparagus/dark khaki colour theme, knee high lace up worker boots, mesh top. This outfit is a great ensemble, chic; grunge; casual.
See more about Jean Paul Gautier here on Artsy.

Balmain S/S 2010
I adore this military jacket! The embellishment on the shoulders are beautiful with the leather black pants creates a sexy ensemble. Balmain S/S 2010 collection I think was one of the best this summer.

I also love how this collection has also incorporated 80's punk/grunge with holey t-shirts and leather biker jackets and the colour theme of army green and black. It fuses garments that are wonderful for day wear and nightwear.

Max Mara S/S 2010
I love the laid back feel to this outfit and the sheer blouse adds a delicate touch of femininity to traditional boyish colours. The baggy trousers are also very chic this season. Although this ensemble may not be typically military the colour theme suggests it was army inspired.

Also, another continuing trend that has been around since 2009 is the military combat boot that has been both fashionable for male and female.
