Stewart Sizzles in Michelangelo di Battista Shoot

It certainly has been a while since I've blogged so to start the 're-vamp' of M.A.S.H I've decided to blog this beautiful set of images by renowned fashion photographer Michelangelo di Battista of Kristen Stewart for November 2011 issue of Vogue Italia. She wears designs by Alexander McQueen, Roberto Cavalli, Blumaine, Marchesa to name a few. Well known for her portrayal of Bella in the Twilight Series she certainly oozes gothic vampire sex appeal. Stewart is certainly the one to watch with her highly anticipated new movie being released, Breaking Dawn and also a new trailer for another new film, Snow White and the Huntsman coming out next summer. Although I'm not really a fan of Twilight or the media obsession with Stewart I love how Battista captures her raw simple beauty with a touch of class and mystery. These images are most definitely captivating and atmospheric which I love. I also think the hair and make up is alluring.

Photograph of the Day > Water & Oil by Steven Meisel

Meisel's work never ceases to amaze me as he continuously creates mind blowing fashion photographs with amazing concepts. This image of Kristen McMenamy was shot in a BP oil spill for the August 2010 Vogue Italia issue and apparently caused some controversy. It's great how he's used this opportunity to not only create a brilliant editorial spread but to raise awareness about the damages of oil spills has on the environment. In this shot, I love the concept of how Kristen is choking on the water and she's holding her throat. This is what the wildlife would feel drowing in oil, so this is certainly a powerful image whilst looking very fashionable. I also love how Meisel manages to get those rare gritty shots.

Photograph of the Day > Rihanna by Steven Klein

Rihanna by Steven Klein
Vogue Italia

This image of Rihanna is very dominating and powerful. Rihanna has the amazing ability to capture the viewers attention by just standing there. She's 5'9" but here looks over 6'0" tall due to below angle the photo was taken from. Also her body looks jaw dropping in this! This photo is from a series of 'Extreme Couture' and with Rihanna's eccentric style and hardcore rock chick looks, there wasn't anyone better to pull these haute couture pieces. In addition, with Steven Klein extraordinary photographic skill and natural eye for aesthetic this collaboration was meant to be. I love Klein's post processing as well, the grey tones and slight use of solarization works wonderfully giving the photo that extra punch. This photo shoot was featured in Vogue Italia, September 2009 issue.
