This beautiful photograph is part of a series that Leventi has taken of 24 opera houses. It was hard to choose which photo to feature as 'Photograph of the Day' as all of them are spectacular shots of exquisite, grand interior design. The royal red and gold is luxurious and majestic and wonderfully compliments the regal artisitc oval ceiling. I also love how Leventi has captured the beautiful lighting and the extraordinary chandelier. The composition in this image is wonderfully symmetrical. I've never been so fascinated by interior architecture. I don't have a lot of knowledge of architecture and art history however my educated guess would be this was made during the Renaissance period.
David Leventi's documentary photography is exceptional and is even more eye-catching due to the fact I'm not usually so awe-inspired by photographs of interior design.
